<p style="font-size:18px;margin-bottom:8px;">One of the last things I got to do with my grandfather was vote alongside him in the 2004 election.
</p>
<p style="font-size:18px;margin-bottom:8px;">After we voted, he and I sat out on our porch. He reminded me South Carolina didn't always consider him a whole man, and that he couldn't always vote like we just had done.
</p>
<p style="font-size:18px;margin-bottom:8px;">Then, he looked at me, grabbed my arm, and said: "<strong>Never let anybody tell you that you don't matter. </strong><strong>Never let anybody tell you that you don't count."</strong>
</p>
<p style="font-size:18px;margin-bottom:8px;">That is why I am so disgusted by what is going on in states like Georgia, Florida, and now Texas. Over 380 anti-voter bills have been introduced in our country this year telling people that they do not matter. <strong>And that is a lie.</strong>
</p>
<p style="font-size:18px;margin-bottom:8px;">At the DNC, we're doing all we can to fight Republican attacks on our most sacred right to vote. We're operating a 24/7 voter protection hotline, challenging these bogus voter suppression laws, and so much more -- but those efforts need your support right now in order to make them strong enough to meet the moment.
